First Week
- Bermuda sod can be planted if it is still available. Make sure you water it regularly for the rest of the winter to keep it form drying out.
- Fertilize your pansies, snapdragons, cabbage, and dianthus. Use a nitrogen based fertilizer.
- Make sure you keep the wet/matted leaves off your lawn. If you don't, you'll have big dead spots next spring.
Second Week
- Prune dead limbs from trees now that all the leaves are gone.
- Prune your evergreen shrubbery.
Third Week and Fourth week
- Keep mulch at least six inches away from the tree trunks.
- Plant Wisteria and Carolina Jassamine now. Be sure to place them next to a sturdy arbor and secure the vine with loosely tied twine.
