- Fertilize newly planted fescue lawns with a starter fertilizer
- To fend off chickweed and annual bluegrass during the winter months apply a weed preventer to bermudagrass, zoysiagrass, and centipede grass.
- Time to start or overseed fescue lawns. Aerate before seeding, roll afterwards, water approx. .5 inch in the morning and .5 inch in the afternoon for about 2 weeks.
Second Week

- Fertilize newly-planted pansies with a water-soluble houseplant ferilizer. Follow the directions on the label. This should give your pansies a rapid start.

Third Week
- Raise your mower height .5 inch and mow your Bermuda, Centipede, or Zoysia grass for the last time this season.
- Finish dividing iris rhizomes, daylily, and peony roots. Replant the divisions quickly and water well.
- Plant tulips and daffodil bulbs now for sping color. Divide bulbs and replant if needed.
Fourth Week
- Fertilize pansies again with a water-soluble houseplant fertilizer and switch to a nitrogen based fertilizer in two weeks.
- Root cuttings of impatiens, begonias, and geraniums to bring indoors for the winter.
